Scrive is now recruiting an additional Desktop Support Engineer to assist our engineering team and business stakeholders. The role primarily involves development, administration and support of desktop computers, mobile devices and office infrastructure to support Scrive business operations.
The position is located in Munich, therefor applicants are required to live in Munich along with having an EU citizenship or permanent EU residency . For this role you will report to Head of Service Operations.
The role involves supporting local and remote employees with various desktop and
mobile device support issues from the Munich office, with the majority of the company
running macOS based laptops, iPhones and iPads.
Planning for the future, the successful candidate will also help maintain JAMF Pro and the Apple based fleet of devices by:
● Configuring and preparing new JAMF/macOS/iOS/tvOS versions as necessary
● Maintain third-party applications in JAMF Pro patch management
● Maintain the zero-touch enrollment configuration.
Scrive maintains wired/wireless networks in its offices and a familiarity with configuring and troubleshooting network equipment (Ubiquiti Wi-Fi & generic switches) and associated issues on end-user devices is necessary.
Scrive is looking to improve its compliance measures on Linux based workstations and
laptops, which may involve standardizing on a single Linux distribution and planning for, setting up and installing a low maintenance MDM or other compliance solution on such devices which still allows developers the freedom to work. The ability and freedom to execute this project will be a part of this role and required.
There are a very small number of Windows machines within the company which may
require occasional support.
WHO ARE YOU?
To succeed in the role as Senior Desktop support engineer we believe that you have a at least 5 years experience from a similar position. You have a “can do” attitude and we expect you to meet the following minimum qualifications:
● Excellent macOS/iOS/tvOS support knowledge
● JAMF Pro/Protect/Connect experience
● Azure AD
● Entry level scripting
● Knowledge of maintaining networking equipment
● Good desktop-oriented Linux knowledge
● Experience as Jira admin
Big bonus points if you have previous experience working with:
● Beginner level Swift/XCode
To succeed in the role as our Desktop engineer you need to be self-reliant, able to independently choose work methods and make necessary decisions to drive work forward. You have to be persistent and have the capacity to work hard and put in time, energy and effort in his or her work. the The role is all about solving problems so we believe that you are solution oriented where you gather information, break down the problem and understand short term and long term consequences of different solutions. Last but not least you are flexible, at the moment Scrive is growing rapidly and things are changing on the way, therefore you need to be able to take on activities and find solutions when circumstances change.
