Legal Counsel
We Care, We Challenge, We Commit, We Collaborate
Join Scrive and be part of an international, fast-growing company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Collaborate with smart, caring, and driven colleagues across Europe as we shape the Scrive story. 🚀
The opportunity
We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal department and play a key role in supporting Scrive’s continued expansion. In this role, you’ll strengthen our ability to efficiently support the Revenue department in maintaining and growing our customer base in Sweden and across Europe.
You will be part of a small, hands-on legal team while collaborating closely with other functions - mainly the Revenue department. This is a remote role available for anyone living and working within the EU; however, if you’re located in Stockholm or Copenhagen and can work 2–3 days a week from our office, that’s a plus.
In this role, you will:
Provide clear, accurate legal and contractual advice to internal functions at Scrive, with a dedicated focus on supporting the Revenue department.
Interpret and translate business requirements into legal/contractual requirements and vice versa with ability to weigh legal risk against revenue impact.
Independently manage assigned legal matters, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and approving contractual conditions in various contexts (sales/licence contracts, data processing agreements, partnership agreements, etc.).
Contribute as the legal expert to sales processes—primarily on contract law, electronic signature legislation (including the eIDAS regulation), and data protection—while also advising on NIS2/DORA, AML regulations, and other relevant requirements affecting Scrive’s services.
Apply clear escalation judgment, advising internal stakeholders on commercial/legal risks and practical mitigations.
Proactively enhance processes, tools, contract templates, playbooks, ways of working, and knowledge sharing within Scrive.
What we’re looking for
To succeed in this role, you should have:
At least 5 years of experience in a relevant capacity (legal counsel, legal associate, lawyer/attorney).
An LLM, LLB, or Master’s degree in business law.
Hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
Comfortably run multiple enterprise deals simultaneously with tight timelines using a pragmatic, deal-oriented and risk-balancing approach
The ability to work independently and efficiently with matter management - handling triage, prioritisation, stakeholder expectations, and progress reporting - in a fast-moving environment.
Full working proficiency in English.
🌟 Bonus points if you:
Are eligible to work in Stockholm or Copenhagen.
Have hands-on knowledge of EU legislation, especially the eIDAS regulation and/or the GDPR.
Bring experience from Software, SaaS, or LegalTech environments.
Have technical know-how (e.g., coding) and/or sales experience.
Possess additional excellent language skills, particularly in French, German, Spanish, Italian, or a Nordic language.
In this role, we see that you are service-minded, flexible, thorough, structured, and proactive. We’re using a competence-based recruitment process where these competencies will play an important role.
Don’t meet every single requirement? Apply anyway! Studies show that women and people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every qualification. At Scrive, we value diverse perspectives and encourage anyone who is excited about this role to apply.
